Q: Why do you make the type of art you do? If you had to describe the main themes present in your art, what words or phrases would you choose?

A: I guess I'd describe it as vent art about traumas, abuse and mental health overall

Q: Who are some artists that inspire you and/or influence your art? Why?

A: I really like most blood artists like hellishrazor and @vlad_darkness666art

Mostly cuz of the way they use the medium. Also a fan of Francis Bacon‘s work for how raw the figures are

Q: What draws you into blood art?

A: How personal it is! It's like you don't even have to sign your work because it's undeniable yours :D

Q: What are the ramifications of using your own blood ?

A: So far nothing besides I get a little drowsy if it's a larger piece. But normally I'm healed and can do it again in a few days

Q: It’s ok if it’s too personal but what’s your process in terms of “gathering material” I’ve seen people use a little thumb prick before and also using plain blood must be harder since it clots after not long, so do you mix water or something with the blood before painting with it ?

A: I use a razor and paint using the dull side directly from my body to the paper. I use water too and a paintbrush if I need something to look more clean or if I have to create shading on something

It clots fast though yeah, so you just have to paint really quickly and finish it all in one sitting or the dried parts will be a different color

Least dangerous way is either a diabetes pricker or having a phlebotomist friend tho

Q: There’s seems to be a gray area between self harm and art. Could you speak on that a little bit ? The line between the two, if there is one ? How do you think of it ?

A: I don't consider the act of self harm to have any kind of artistic value. If I let the blood just run down onto my floor it wouldn't be "art" to me. It's more like the conscious process if creating anything on purpose that turns the blood into art and not a clot

Q: Let’s talk about the pieces you make using pages from books. What’s your process in deciding what pages to use?

A: Most of them I've picked at random, read/skim through, then drew whatever comes to mind even if it's not related to the text

If I'm looking for a specific passage that I already know, I already have a big of a plan of the drawing though. Like for homophobic passages in the bible

Q: What is the medium you’re most comfortable working with? Are there any other forms of art that you wish to learn more of?

A: I think I'm probably best with acrylics and blood. I want to get more skilled at ceramics fundamentals so I can make more complex structures though. Also want to learn oils since they blend differently than acrylic

Q: Your art seems as if it’s very personal and intimate. I’ve noticed you tend to use yourself as reference for the humanoid characters you create. Is there a particular reason or is it just convenient ?

A: I think part of it is that it's easier to get the pose perfectly and also it is a little more personal, especially if it's a digital piece where I just directly use the photograph

Q: Would you say in a way they’re self portraits ? Or like the way you view different aspects of yourself personified ? A: I think all of my stuff is a reflection of myself because I don't really feel comfortable making art about traumas that aren't in some way related to me. I'm generally the blue colored figure in my stuff

Q: How long have you been doing art? Why did you start and what do you use it as an outlet for?

Q: What’s your favorite piece that you’ve ever created? why? Would you kindly walk me through the process of how it was made ? Doesn’t have to be in detail, could just be your thoughts making it any techniques you tried and ending up liking, how long it took, what inspired you etc. etc. ?

A: My favorite piece I've done is "Butterfly Garden" because no matter what it's what I'm going to struggle with the most probably forever. I made it using basically the same photo bashing/collage technique I use for all my digital art. So I took two photos of myself, stitched them together, found images on Google/ other photo sites and stitched them in and then fixed the shading and moved the parts to look more like I wanted it to

It's mainly about how much pain being raped by someone you're in love with causes especially when you're still in love with them afterwards. And the shame of those feelings in spite of what happened hurts like glass and razors where your insides are

A blue humanoid figure on a black background with an animal skull head lays against the left side of the piece, red blood drips from the neck and the inside of their lower torso/pelvic area, razor like objects stuck inside. Two Red butterflies fly by the figure’s leg, which is being held up by a red hand/arm reaching out from thr right side of the piece.
